We all Know every RCC structure made up of some basic component like Footing Beam Column and Slab Etc.
Here We Consider a single Storey RCC Building Plan.

Steps for design a RCC building:
(1) First of all prepare a layout plan of RCC Building.
(2) Placement of beams, slabs, columns and walls.
(3) Give numbering to all of them.
(4)Assume Size of Elements.
(5)Find Slabs that are One way or Two way.
(6)Understand how loads are transfer to Beam.
(7)Then Design the Slabs First including with All necessary Checks.
(8)Find the Type of Beam That is Simply supportad Beam, Continuous Beam or Cantilever beam.
(9)Design of Beams: including with All necessary Checks.
(10)Grouping of Columns that is Axially loaded column or axial load +uniaxial moment, axial bi-axial moment.
(11)Design of Columns.
(12)Groupingof Footings and Design of Footings.
Step-1:-Prepare a layout plan
Here We Consider a single Storey RCC Building Plan.
In layout plan, placement of wall will be According to requirement. Layout plan should follow vastu laws.HOW TO PREPARE A PLAN OF RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL BUILDING ? I will provide you in my next post.
Step-2:-Placement of beams, slabs, columns and wall
(a)Placement of wall:- As requirements of space in building We provide the walls. according to space managements.
(b)Placement of Columns:-

Step-2:-Placement of beams, slabs, columns and wall
(a)Placement of wall:- As requirements of space in building We provide the walls. according to space managements.
(b)Placement of Columns:-
- Firstly placed on corners.
- And minimum span should not be greater than 5m C/C.
- We can use two types of Columns:- Sqaure and Rectangular.
- Minimum size of Column is 230 mmx230 mm.
(c)Placement of Beam & Slabs:-
- If Ly/Lx > 2 Then Design as ONE WAY SLAB
- If Ly/Lx > 2 Then design as TWO WAY SLAB
Step-3:-Give numbering to all of them
Step-4:-Assume the Size of element
- You can assume Effective depth of slab 100 mm or 120 mm .
- AND effective depth of Beam can be assumed L(eff)/10 to L(eff)/12
Let i assume Effective depth of various slabs in our plan.
